Recent Events and Parish Life
We've had some truly wonderful events recently that have brought our community closer together. Firstly, our recent Harvest Festival was an absolute triumph! The church was adorned with beautiful decorations, and the spirit of gratitude filled the air. Many thanks to all who contributed with donations of produce and time – your generosity was truly humbling. The food collected went to support local families in need, which is at the heart of what we strive for at Islandeady Church. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of community and sharing our blessings. We also saw a fantastic turnout for our Sunday School Fun Day. Looking Ahead: Upcoming Services and Activities
Get ready, folks, because we have an exciting lineup of events and services coming your way! First off, mark your calendars for our Advent Carol Service on December 3rd. It’s a beautiful way to kick off the festive season, filled with cherished carols, reflective readings, and a powerful message of hope. We encourage everyone to come and share in this joyous occasion. Following that, our Christmas Eve Midnight Mass will be held at 11:30 PM on December 24th. This is a deeply spiritual and moving service, a cornerstone of our Christmas celebrations. We anticipate a full house, so arriving a little early is recommended. For the New Year, we’re planning a special Epiphany Celebration Service on January 7th, reflecting on the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles. This service will be a wonderful opportunity to start the new year with renewed faith and purpose. Beyond services, we're also excited to announce the relaunch of our Bible Study Group, meeting every Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM in the parish hall. This is a fantastic chance to delve deeper into scripture, share insights, and grow in understanding together. Whether you're a seasoned theologian or just curious, all are welcome. We're also organizing a community outreach project in collaboration with local charities, focusing on supporting the homeless during the winter months. We'll be collecting warm clothing and essential supplies. More details on how you can contribute will be shared soon, but start thinking about how you can get involved! Finally, don't forget our Youth Group meetings, held every Saturday afternoon. It's a safe and fun space for our young people to connect, learn, and grow in their faith.
